Ichi, a grumbly green grocer who loves vegetables, not people, picks up Toma-chan at the vegetable market where he had been discarded. Toma-chan is a small, green tomato whose dearest wish is to ripen into a lovely red fruit and be sold at a good price to a customer. Will Ichi be able to help him, uh, mature?
