Jade, a soldier, is abandoned after being taken prisoner, only to be found by Rene, a member of a tribe known as “the Reaper’s Messengers.” Haunted by survivor’s guilt and the voices of his fallen comrades, Jade struggles with the weight of being the only one left alive. But Rene’s words and warmth slowly pull him out of his nightmares and back into reality.

As Jade finds himself drawn to Rene, he cannot bring himself to accept the tribe’s way of finding joy in death…
