Sara and her younger sister Misa lost their parents when they were young and they were living with relatives who treated them badly, until one day when they were suddenly summoned to the world of Phalandria, the Holy Kingdom. The king told them, "In place of my princess Sara, you will be sacrificed to the Demon Lord instead......."
