Modeled after the Kikuzaka Hotel in Hongo, where Yumeji Takehisa lived with his girlfriend, Oha, the story is told through the eyes of Yaeko, the daughter of the owner of the Kikuzaka Hotel, who portrays the lives of such historical writers and painters.
