Wakako took over her family's grocery store when her mother fell ill, the latest misfortune in a year filled with bad luck. She went to a shrine to buy a good-luck charm, and got the last one left in stock. To her surprise, a handsome god named Rei, the god of misfortune, was sealed within the charm. He feeds off the "taste of misfortune" that seeps out from people's bodily fluids. Wakako, full of "yaku" (bad luck), became Rei's gourmet meal!
