Cupcake to Koi no Katbutsu
Reina Takane, a first-year high school student, is so beautiful that people call her Takane-chan, the unattainable flower of the school. However, due to devoting all her free time to karate and schoolwork, she has trouble fitting in with the other girls in her class.
On the day after summer vacation, an ordinarily inconspicuous girl, Kibon Hira, causes a fuss when she proclaims, "I hate it when other people give me cupcakes from home economics class." Because it's as if it's an unwanted love confession.
Yuri, the most popular girl in class, tries to tease Hira-san by pretending to confess to her. However, when her joke confession is dismissed out of hand, Yuri gets mad, and she blurts out another lie, that Takane-chan is the one who likes Hira. As a result, the two girls becomes linked in a relationship.
From then on, Takane and Hira grow closer, as they run the relay at the sports festival, study together at the library, and perform in the class play at the cultural festival. Takane is drawn to Hira, who turns out to be kinder and more hardworking than she expected. On the other hand, she begins to worry about the fact that they became friends only through a false confession. And then, Yuri, jealous of their friendship, reveals Reina's mother's past in front of everyone in class.......
