Hikari Hoshino, who grew up traveling with her father, Ginji, an itinerant painter, finds herself at "Hoshino Kindergarten," run by her uncle, Kintaro, after her father's death. Hikari finds hope in her new life with her four adopted siblings, Mikihisa, Hiiro, Asagi, and Sumire, and the other children at the kindergarten. However, the adopted children seem to have their own mixed feelings about the sudden appearance of a Hoshino blood relative!
