His mother, who is involved in a new religious movement, drags him to a meeting and Haruhito is horrified to see his classmate Saibara Touma worshipped as the “Enlightener”. They’d never talked to each other at school, but here, Touma was like a god with all of his personhood stripped away. Then that night, Haruhito sees Touma dragging an oil canister toward the religious facility?! That was how they first met; Touma, who was being pressured into a corner by the adults around him, and Haruhito, who chose to get close to him.
